Al Riddley, Executive Director
Al Riddley offers a commitment and legacy of service to communities in Illinois. He is an advocate, teacher, and minister. His experience includes more than 35 years of leading, teaching, and encouraging people to live a quality life. He has been the Executive Director of the Illinois Coalition for Community Services since January 1, 2009.
Al graduated from Southern Seminary in 1977 with a MA in Education and earned a BA in Political Science at Georgetown College. He participated in additional studies in Boston. Al advocates for people living in extreme poverty, facing discrimination, and the potential loss of personal dignity. He has helped to make a difference in people’s lives, one person at a time.
Al currently serves on the Governor’s Commission on the Elimination of Poverty as chair of the “Making Work Accessible” Committee; Illinois Rural Affairs Council; Illinois Council of Area Projects; Illinois Coalition of Youth; Illinois Youth Network Council; Board member of the Farm Resource Center; Advisory board of the National Governor’s Association; Executive Board of the International Equipping Ministries; Executive Board of the North Shore Rescue Mission; and serves on the Illinois Rural Child Care Task Force.
He is married to Lynn Callahan. They enjoy tennis among many other sports and activities. They are avid Chicago White Sox fans in which Al has been a devoted lifelong loyalist.
