Courtney Goodman grew up in Waterloo, IL. She received her MPA and BA in Political Science from Southern Illinois University at Carbondale while also serving in the Illinois National Guard.

In 2007, Courtney worked as a lobbyist for AARP Legislative Office in Springfield, IL and as an employment coordinator intern at the Illinois Department of Employment Security.

Courtney has volunteered for numerous organizations, most notably the American Red Cross and the MS Society. In these positions, she has gained invaluable experience and furthered her passion for public service.

She currently resides in Carbondale, IL
