Robert, a retired middle school teacher, is 54 years old,lives in Johnston City and has been an AmeriCorps VISTA since August 1, 2009.

Robert is founder of Johnston City Community Outreach, a grassroots community group working to better the community through service.

Community Service Day Celebration, October 3, 2009. A day filled with ceremonies honoring our returning veterans, citizens and businesses involved in the community and a five hour rock concert called Rock Feast to raise awareness of the need of our local food pantries as well as an opportunity to collect can goods and money for their operation.

2nd Annual Johnston City Community Thanksgiving Dinner, November 26, 2009. A free Thanksgiving meal for all the community, stressing the need for fellowship and providing company for those who may be alone or without means to have a proper Thanksgiving Day meal.

Hobbies: Wood working and crafting, building and maintaining websites for local library and my church. He is active in the following organizations: The Southern Illinois Grandparents Raising Grandchildren Coalition, City park Chairman, BELA Program director for his church.
