Comprehensive Youth Services (CCBYS)
The Comprehensive Community Based Youth Services program provides 24-hour crisis intervention, individual and family counseling, outreach, emergency shelter, information and referral and linkage to other agencies. The CCBYS program provides services that are short term, intensive, and based in the home, which focuses on the family unit. Youth ages 10 – 17 are eligible for services in the counties of Coles, Cumberland, Clark, Edgar, Douglas, Moultrie, and Shelby.
Trained counselors provide individuals with person-to-person crisis intervention, individual, group, and family counseling. Staff are available for crisis calls 24 hours a day, seven days a week.
Donated Funds Initiative (DFI)
The Donated Funds Initiative serves youth that are between the ages of 11- 17 and who reside in Coles, Cumberland, Clark, Douglas, Edgar, Moultrie, and Shelby counties. Counseling services are provided to youth who required more intensive services, which may extend to 6 months in length. Services are focused on preserving the family and improving social functioning.
The following service activities are made available to clients:
advocacy
school enrollment
recreation, social and cultural activities
daily school attendance
job finding and placement
prevocational and vocational counseling
peer group interactions
egress planning (linkage to other community programs)
weekly verbal communication with the UDIS Casemanager
attendance at regularly scheduled case staffings
family contacts and interactions
counseling (one-on-one and group)
tutoring
monthly written progress reports
court appearances
24-hour, 7 day availability
